Mike Mosteller, Drums & Percussion Instructor

Mike is a professional freelance drummer and percussionist with a total of 30 years experience invested into his craft. Since starting the drums by age 9, he has been involved in 18+ professional bands in every genre of music imaginable, and has been instructing privately in the Denver area for over 13 years. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Percussion and Jazz Drum Set from California Institute of Arts, Mike has a diverse knowledge of drumming that encompasses many disciplines of the percussive arts including Ghanaian African Drumming, North Indian Tabla, and Balinesian Gamelon. He has had many opportunities to study with true masters of the trade, from several continents, and he can easily adapt to any musical situation, both as a performer and an instructor. Through his Passionate teaching style and diverse background Mike prides himself on providing custom drum lessons tailored to each pupil. His warm character and attention to his students personal needs continue to motivate his students to reach for their dreams on the greatest instrument of all: The Drums!

As a professional, he has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many world class artists such as: Shaggy, Sugar Ray, 30 Seconds to Mars, Goldfinger, Barrington Levy, The Pharcyde, M.U.R.S., Katchafire, Morgan Heritage, Khaira Arby, The Pimps of Joytime, Skylab 2000, Blackalicious, Moksha, Skerik, Jaden Carlson, Hairball, Afro Zep, and Atomga Groove Alliance. In addition, he has also won many rounds of the Guitar Center Drum Off, a National competition, making it to the runner up position in the Quarter Finals 2 years in a row, and the Semi-Finals the following year.
